Mackenzie and Lola's First Halloween

With it being the girls' first Halloween, we dressed them in theme. We decided to go with a monkey and a banana. I am sure they will hate us when they grow up and see these pictures, but it was soooo cute!!!

No monkey is complete without her banana!!!!

Kasey's Baby Shower

My nephew Eric and his wife Kasey are expecting their first child so we attended a baby shower in their honor. Thank you to Flo, Robbyn, Mende, Shannon and Crystal for such a fun party!!

Mackenzie was such a sport...she didn't care who was holding her, as long as she was being held. Here Abagail is holding Mackenzie, with the help of Shannon.

Side view!!

Mackenzie sure loves Brett!! She sat on his lap most of the afternoon.

More Randomness!!

Here are some more shots just thrown all together.

Jada holding Mackenzie and Nina and Margaret playing with her.

Our first pumpkin patch visit!!

We LOVED the ride in the combine!! She cried when I took her out!!

Lola being so happy!
Mackenzie chilling with her Great-Uncle Robb!! (and he really is a great uncle!!)

Mommy and me!!

Laughing with Grandpa Mitch!

Aunt Kim teaching Mackenzie to drink out of a straw.

Home Improvements

Since we have moved into the new house, we have done a few things. Matt has insulated the garage (he did it while we were not home so I couldn't get any pictures) and we have seeded and strawed the yard. The dirt we have is not the best, so we (mainly Matt and my dad) worked hard one weekend so we could get some grass. I have to say that the yard looks great now!!

Mackenzie helped her daddy pick up rocks. She loves to be outside!! Matt thought it was easier to put her in the wagon with the bucket of rocks because both were getting heavy!

Mackenzie driving the tractor. She loves to play with anything with a steering wheel and automatically hits the center of it thinking it is a horn!!

With Grandpa Mitch

Randoms!!

Here are some randoms for you!!

These 2 pictures are how Mackenzie says "bye-bye". We don't really know why she puts her cheek to her arm, but it is soooo cute!!

She has done this numerous times. Falling asleep at the high chair!!!

We love the playground!!

Our first ER trip

So I was hoping our first ER trip would not be until she was around 2 or so, but we had to make one when she was 7 1/2 months old. I was changing her diaper before she went to bed one night and she had a bright red bump/rash on her leg. I thought it might be a spider bite, so I called my mom and we took her. Matt was out of town, so he couldn't be there and I know that was killing him!!

She was a trooper through everything. We got there at 8:30 and didn't get home until almost midnight!! I like how the name is "emergency room" and you always sit in the waiting room FOREVER!!

Been too long!!

I has been way too long since I have last blogged. I have been super busy, but that is really been no excuse. Mackenzie is now 9 months old and getting so big so fast!! She is pulling up and taking some steps by holding our fingers. She refuses to crawl but that is ok. She is eating nothing but table foods and she is now drinking from a straw.

As far as Matt and I go, we are still the same. Matt is still traveling for my grandpa and unfortunately this time of year is the busiest with his travels. I am still working for CitiMortgage.

For the most part our lives are the same. We don't really do anything too exciting. The lastest event that has happened is my great-grandmother passing away. She was 95 years old, so she lived a great life. I still miss her, as does everyone in the family.

Enjoy the pictures as I have about 5 months to catch up on!!

Lola Raeann Westadt

My niece, Lola, made her debut on June 21, 2009 - Father's Day!! Happy Father's Day to her daddy, Adam, and to the new grandpas - Mitch, Keith, Doug and John.

The new family!

Mackenzie really liked Lola!!

"I'm a big kid now!!"

Mackenzie spent the day with her daddy while mommy was at the hospital with her Aunt Rachel. I think she had a really good day with him. So good that she reaches for him all the time!!
Congrats Adam and Rachel - she is so beautiful and precious!!!

Lauren's 5th Birthday

On June 11th, our niece Lauren turned 5. We made the journey to Kansas City and spent the night in a hotel. We really had a lot of fun and Mackenzie did really well in the car - she slept the whole way there and the whole way home.

The Princess on her birthday!!

All the grand girls - Chloe, Mackenzie, Lauren, Jada and Nina

Here Mackenzie is laughing at Chloe and Jada. They were playing peek-a-boo under the table.

Daddy time in the hotel room before church.

Snuggling after chruch. Mackenzie wasn't wanting to take a nap, so Matt laid down on the couch at Anna's house to try and get her down. It worked, for about 20 minutes.

Rachel's Baby Showers

On June 7th, we had Rachel's baby shower on my mom's side of the family. It was at my mom's house and we had a good turn out.

I LOVE this cake!!!!

Mackenzie absolutely loved the balloons. She would hold onto them for a while and let them go and watch them hit the ceiling.

On June 12th was my dad's family shower at my house. It was a fun night and Rachel ended up getting everything else that she needed.

Karli just had to help with the opening of the presents.

Karli just loves Mackenzie. She kept hugging and kissing her.

Too Tired to Play...

...with her toes that is. As you can see, she could barely keep her eyes open (until she heard mommy talk).

Farming and Animals

Mackenzie just loves to be outside. When the weather is not raining or sooooo hot, we are outside walking and playing. A couple of weeks ago, I took Mackenzie to my dad's and he was planting beans. Since it was nice out, I wanted to take some pictures of Mackenzie on the tractor. The noice did not even bother her. Matt was glad to hear that.

"I'm ready to drive for you grandpa"...I think we have a future bailer and raker.
My sister, Rachel, has a dog named Binelli. He is really a good dog and it is so funny when we go to her house. Binelli has to get on the floor and play with Mackenzie. He lets Mackenzie bat at him and he has never tried to bite her.

"Hey I can do that too!!"

Mackenzie had on a pair of rattle socks and every time she kicked it would make Binelli bark and try to get the toys. He got so tired of chasing her feet that he took his paw and held her leg down. We had a good laugh over that.
