I think we have a thinker on our hands...

I know that babies have a mind of their own and they don't intentionally do things, but ever since Mackenzie has been born, she has put her hands to her face whenever she is sleeping or eating. I guess it is a comfort thing from when she was in the womb. Well, I have had to take some pictures because it is just too funny. She looks like she is deep in thought for some of them.

This one she just looks like she had a hard day. She was lounging on Matt and decided to stretch out.

First Outing

Yes...Mackenzie has had her first outing. I was going stir crazy at home, not being able to do anything, that my mom suggested that we come to her house to get us out. I was needing some much needed adult time, so on Tuesday night, Matt took me to Wal-Mart to do some grocery shopping. My mom had come up so she watched Mackenzie for us. I know it was only Wal-Mart, but I needed to get out for just 30 minutes.

Sleeping on Mamma Kathy and Papa Keith's couch after the trip to Troy. She slept the whole way to Troy and then for an hour after that. She doesn't mind her carseat, and I hope it stays that way.

I think all she does is sleep and Matt says that is ok, but today she surprised us. She was up most of the late morning/early afternoon. She has been fussing, so I hope that just means she is trying to stay awake longer instead of something being wrong.

My Aunt Debbie came by my mom's last night after she got off work. Mackenzie and I spent the night at my mom's so Matt could get a good night's sleep. I don't think he wanted to be away from us, but both of us made it through the night. That was really just a test for when he starts traveling again.

Are you happy Aunt Rachel?

So when I was posting pictures of people holding Mackenzie, I forgot my sister. She told me that she was pretty heartbroken, so here it is. I hope this makes you happy Aunt Rachel!

More pictures

On Sunday we had a few visitors-Matt's sister Amy and husband Chris with their two boys, Samuel and Jack.

Jack loved baby Mackenzie.

So did Samuel

Mackenzie really loves her daddy time. Since Matt went back to work yesterday, whenever he comes home he makes sure he holds her. It really is the sweetest thing.

Every night Matt reads a book to Mackenzie. He says that is something he is going to do every night, as long as he is in town.
