We're Here!!!!

Well we made it into Seattle last night about 11. It was a long and exhausting day, but we finally made it. It is absolutely beautiful here!! But you will see some shots of that in a little bit.

Here is Ellen, Rachel and I holding up a map of Wyoming (we couldn't get the sign because of road construction).
This was most of the scenery in Wyoming.

Ok, so Ellen is holding up a warning ticket that Keith received in Wyoming. It is really a weird story. We were driving along and there was an abandoned car along the side of the road. It is a law in Wyoming that you have to get in the opposite lane of the vehicle. Well, Keith could not get over because of a car along side of us, so that is why a State Trooper pulled us over. He said he failed to see the car on the other side of us (which how could he see it because of the 30 foot RV we were in).

Some more of Wyoming.

This is actually in Utah. I would have to say that Utah was way prettier than Colorado and Wyoming. There were these HUGE rocks everywhere!!

These were real popular in Wyoming and Utah. They are these huge fans that generate electricity.
More of the beautiful scenery of Utah.

This was on Saturday morning. We were able to get a good night's sleep in the Hampton Inn and we were ready for another day.

My mom thought it would be funny for us girls to stand under this sign.

Idaho was just as pretty as Utah!!

So here we are in Oregon. This was also a pretty state.

The hills of Oregon.

Here we stopped at a lookout point in Oregon. We could see for miles!!

Finally in Washington!!!!!

It was really foggy when we got into Washington. It actually rained on us for the first time last night. It was really pretty. My uncle says that it is green here all year round.

The Puget Sound.
Here is a view of Seattle from the ferry. We had to take a ferry to my Uncle's house. It was really cool!!

On the ferry.

This is actually a shot of getting off the ferry. These ferries are huge!! I think my uncle said they hold 218 cars and 2500 passengers.

Here is my uncle's town, Paulsbo, WA. It is a cute little Norwegian town. We spent the day today walking around the shops. It really reminded me of downtown St Charles.

Here is a picture of my Uncle Robbie's house.

The trees here are huge!!! I was actually standing at the bottom of the tree looking up when I took this shot.

This is a picture of Seattle from my uncle's back yard. He has the most amazing view!! We actually sat and watched some cruise ships go out today from his deck.

Pictures

Well here are the pictures I couldn't get uploaded yesterday. We are currently going through Boise, Idaho. We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Tremonton, Utah last night so we could get some much needed showers and some real food. (We hadn't bathed in two days and basically ate snacks the whole time.) We are about 500 miles from Seattle, so hopefully (fingers crossed) we will get to Seattle tonight and get to stay in a bed again. Stay tuned for more pictures!!

Here is the RV my mom and step-dad rented for the trip. It is actually very spacious. It will seat 10 people (although I would not recommend 10 people) and had all the likeness of home-stove, sink, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, & bathroom. There is also a shower on here, but we are not using it.
Here is mom and Rachel sitting in our driveway. They came and picked us up at our house so our vehicles weren't sitting outside all week.
Our captain, My step-dad Keith.

Ellen thinking she is cute wanting to drive. (Don't worry-we didn't let her)
We started the trip by going through Kansas and Colorado. While going through Kansas, we had to use the Kansas Turnpike. I am really glad we went through Kansas at night because there is really not a whole lot to see.

Here is Matt taking a crack at driving. The first few minutes were rough, but he eventually got the hang of it. Keith and Matt drove all night long. We stopped in Limon, Colorado for them to sleep.
As you can tell from this picture, I had no problem sleeping.

Here is a picture of Colorado. Some of the scenery was flat, but mostly hills.
Ellen couldn't handle all the excitement of going through Colorado.

I don't know if you can tell, but in the far distance is the Rocky Mountains. It was really cloudy that day we went through Denver, but we still got to see some of them.
More of Colorado landscape. Matt was intrigued by all the open range that Colorado and Wyoming have. There are even cattle guards at all the on and off ramps so the cattle don't get out.

And We're Off...

Well I have pictures of our trip so far, but I haven't had time to upload them. We are currently in Wyoming; we left last night around 6pm and my step-dad and Matt drove all night and we camped out in Colorado and we got back on the road about 8 this morning. We are hoping to make it to Salt Lake City tonight and see some fireworks. There is a possibility that we should be in Seattle by tomorrow night. Stay posted because I am going to try and get my pictures up.

Fun in the Sun

This last Sunday, Rachel and I drove to Mark Twain Lake to spend a day on the water with my Uncle Andy and Aunt Adrienne and kids. Even though it was raining in the morning, we were able to go out all afternoon. We had so much fun!!

Here is Abigail and Rachel. Abigail is the oldest of my Aunt and Uncle's 3 children.

Once again, a true Mennemeyer. Just hand her a can and she will drink it up.

Our boat captain...my Uncle Andy.

My Uncle and my cousin Christian.
This was Abigail after Christian pulled her in the water. She was so mad because she was already dry and had on her clothes. Needless to say when we dropped Andy off at the boat ramp, Adrienne, Rachel, and I threw Christian into the water. That really cheered her up a little bit.
When I got back from the lake, I went to Matt's mom and dad's for dinner. Matt's sister Amy and her husband Chris brought up their 2 boys, Jack and Samuel. Here is Samuel showing me how he can ride his bike.

Family Fun!!

Tonight we were at my grandpa and grandma's house for a grandkid picture. My cousin Billy is in from New Mexico, so we thought this was a perfect opportunity. We also got to play with his two kids, Arianna and Riah.

Karli loved the baby. While I was feeding Riah, she kept pulling on the bottle.

Look at this great bunch!!!!

Father's Day - 2008

For Father's Day this year, my two sisters and I went fishing with our dad. We really had a lot of fun. After the fishing, we went to my grandpa and grandma Mennemeyer's house and had a really good dinner and visit. It really turned out to be a beautiful day.

Here is Rachel and Ellen putting worms on their hooks. It was funny because Rachel didn't really want to touch the worm, but that was the deal-we had to bait our own hooks and take our own fish off.
Rachel posing with her first fish. She literally cast out her line and within a few minutes had a fish!!
Ellen is posing here with one of my fish. I know it is really little, but it seemed with every fish I caught, they were smaller and smaller. After this one, I quit.

Even though little Miss Grace broke her arm a few weeks ago, she is not letting anything stop her. She is still as active as ever.
This one is really funny because my little cousin Karli was walking around most of the afternoon chewing on a rib. Hey, she thought it was good!
