Mackenzie's 2 Month Visit

Yesterday was Mackenzie's 2 Month doctor's visit. She now weighs 12 lbs 3 1/2 ozs and is 22 1/4 inches long. She is really putting on the weight!! The doctor told us with the way she is gaining, we can put her on cereal in about a month. She also had about 3 shots. She did cry (and so did Mommy...I think Daddy was a little upset too) but after they got done and Mommy was able to pick her up, she was fine. She slept fine last night and so far today has not gotten a fever from it. I hope she does this well with all of her shots!!!

Mackenzie's Baptism

So I decided to take a break from packing to upload some pictures.

On Sunday March 8th, Mackenzie Nicole was baptized at St Mary's church in Hawk Point. After the baptism we had a dinner at the church hall for everyone. It was definitely a fun-filled day!

In her pretty little dress Grandma Jane and Grandpa Rich got Mackenzie.

She didn't even cry when the water was poured over her head.

I don't think Matt can stand any straighter or stiffer, do you?

With mommy and daddy

This was really a once in a lifetime photo, so I had to make sure to get it. Matt's brother-in-law hardly ever holds babies. I think he prefers them when they are a little older.

Slacker

I know that I have slacked on putting up some new pictures (mainly Baptism) but we have been SUPER busy. Matt and I have a contract on our house so we have been house-hunting. We found one that we both liked, so now the fun of packing begins. The set close date on both houses in April 3rd. I promise I will get some new pictures up as soon as I can. Whenever Mackenzie is not around or sleeping I have to take advantage of that and get some packing done. :-)

Pics

I went back to work this last week, so it has been an adjustment for all of us. Mackenzie is attending daycare in Troy, so Matt is taking her and picking her up. The first few days were rough for the both of us, but we are now on the right track.

Matt and Mackenzie sleep together quite a bit at night. She eats around 6 and falls asleep for a few hours, so Matt decides to sleep with her. This really helps when she gets up at 2 am because Matt is well rested. :-)

Daddy's Girl

When Mackenzie woke up this morning, I had Matt feed her so I could take a shower. When I got out of the shower, this is what I found-both sound asleep.

Mackenzie's First Farm Show/Roadtrip to Kansas City

This weekend, Mackenzie and I ventured to Kansas City where Matt was working at the Western Farm Show. We went up on Thursday morning and came home this morning. Mackenzie did really good in the car, until it was time to eat. By then we were at our destinations, so it really didn't matter.

All worn out from the ride to KC!
Last night, Matt's sister Anna and her family babysat Mackenzie so Matt and I could have a night out. We really had a fun time. We went to dinner with everyone from the show and then a few of us went out to some bars. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures, but that is all right.

This morning before breakfast. I had to put her jacket on her to go to the hotel lobby and I guess she thought it was funny because she kept smiling at me the whole time.

Emma's Beauty Pagent

Yesterday my niece, Emma, was in a Little Miss beauty pagent in Carbondale, IL. Mackenzie and I made the trip with my mom and little sister to see her compete. She was so adorable in her gown, but as I got to looking around, there are a lot of psycho-moms out there!! Some of the outfits were unreal!! Little Miss Emma received 4th runner up and will be able to compete at the state level. We will not be able to make that competition, so good luck Princess Emma!!

Mackenzie slept through most of the competition. She got a little fussy towards the end, but what do you expect out of a 5 week old.

Mackenzie's First Valentine's Day

Mackenzie had her first Valentine's Day and it was a very eventful one. When we woke up, my step-dad had a card for her on the table-one of those really big ones. The card was twice her size!! I will try to get a picture of that and post it. She spent the day with my mom because Matt and I were house hunting.

The cute outfit my mom got her.

My mom also got her this bib.

Bank Baby Shower

On Wednesday, Mackenzie and I ventured to my work for my baby shower. Since Mackenzie came early, they waited until we were getting out and about good. It was really a fun day. We went in and had the shower during everyone's lunch shift. Everyone that wanted to see her, did...even though she was a little crabby (sorry guys!! :-))

She finally passed out. Mackenzie decided that she needed to be awake the whole time, which caused her to be fussy.

Visit While at Mamma and Papa's

Last night, Mackenzie and I stayed at my mom's because Matt is out of town. He was only gone last night because next week he will be gone the whole week to Kansas City. Mackenzie and I are going to join him, so stay tuned for pictures.

While we were here, my sister and her boyfriend came over to see Mackenzie. Adam hasn't seen her since she was a newborn in the hospital.

Looking at Aunt Rachel. Whenever you face her to the front, she cocks her head back to see who is holding her. If you hold her like a baby, she gets mad.
Adam taking a crack at holding her. Here he looks a little uncomfortable, but he finally relaxed.

Random Pics

I know she looks like a mummy in this picture, but she LOVES to be swaddled. She even has a little smile on her face in this picture.

Whenever she is really relaxed, she puts her arms above her head.

Exhausted after eating. Matt thought it was really funny that she just passed out.

Mackenzie's First Road Trip

Well, we made our first road trip with Mackenzie. Matt had to travel to Northern Missouri, so I decided that we were going to ride along to get out of the house. Mackenzie did great!! She slept most of the way. When we got to Bethany, MO, we stopped at a restaurant to eat lunch. We took this as a good opportunity to let Mackenzie stretch because she had been in the carseat all day. I laid the changing pad from the diaper bag on the table, and she went to town. All Matt could do was laugh, but he did manage to get a few pictures in too.

Such a big yawn for such a little girl!!

Super Bowl Sunday

On Super Bowl Sunday, my aunts and uncles had a party in my grandparent's shed. It was really a lot of fun. Mackenzie got to meet some of her great-aunts and uncles that she hasn't gotten to meet yet.

Here is my Aunt Michelle. She was sick when Mackenzie was born, so she didn't get to make it to the hospital.

Here is my niece Bella. She is loving her new cousin!!

Mackenzie was so tired that she was passed around a lot and it didn't even phase her.

Are you kidding me?!?!?!

I think Mackenzie might be tired of the camera in her face. When I snapped this photo, she was giving me this look like "get that thing out of my face". It was really too cute.

More Visitors

On Saturday night, we had a few visitors. The Momphard family and also Uncle Mike and Aunt Robbyn. Mackenzie did not mind being passed from one person to the next.

Miss Jada holding baby Mackenzie.

Ok...I know it is not nice to make fun of your kids, but check out the Urkel pants!! All of her pants are too big so we have to pull them up really far.

First Bath and Doctor's Visit

So I know that I have been slacking a little bit on the pictures, but my computer has been acting up and it is getting fixed right now.

Mackenzie's umbilical cord fell off when she was 11 days old, so we were finally able to give her her first bath. She screamed, of course, but soon calmed down enough for us to handle her ok. The bath must have worn her out because she was in a deep sleep after that.

On January 26th, Mackenzie and I had doctor's appointments. At two weeks old, she weighed 7 lbs 4 1/2 ozs. She is really growing!! Her looks are changing by the day!!

I think we have a thinker on our hands...

I know that babies have a mind of their own and they don't intentionally do things, but ever since Mackenzie has been born, she has put her hands to her face whenever she is sleeping or eating. I guess it is a comfort thing from when she was in the womb. Well, I have had to take some pictures because it is just too funny. She looks like she is deep in thought for some of them.

This one she just looks like she had a hard day. She was lounging on Matt and decided to stretch out.
